About Sandi Stonebraker

Sandi Stonebraker It was while working for Emory University in Atlanta that I signed up for a community watercolor class. Little did I know that this would be a life changing event. My passionate reaction to watercolor was "Oh my gosh, now I know what I want to be when I grow up. Did I tell you that I was 53 years old at the time! I remember painting on my kitchen stove as the overhead light was the best lighting in my little Atlanta condo. Several friends interested in purchasing a painting from me asked if I could frame it. Convinced that I could, I eventually set up a tiny area in my dining room where I cut mats and put together metal frames for my paintings. Becoming a grandmother led to my move from Atlanta to Covington, Kentucky to be closer to family. I purchased a three story house and opened a frame shop on the ground floor in 1997. While continuing to work with watercolor, a piece that I did for my grandaughter of Princess Carol in Her Garden catapulted me into the creation of a new line of personalized custom designed acrylic paintings, The FairyTale Kids. Custom one of a kind personalized paintings in a fairytale garden setting make a wonderful gift for that little one that will be treasured for a lifetime. Please contact the artist for further information on FairyTale Kids.

Funny how life moves along . . . . now at 68 years of age, a new line has found it's way into my shop here in MainStrasse Village. About one year ago, I added a gift line "All Things Princess and Fairy". This followed on the heels of organizing an event here in our village which will see it's 3rd year in October 2011 . . . The Wee Fairy Folk Fest . . . . and then this March I opened a second "All Things Princess & Fairy" at St Simons Island, Georgia - truly my life is full and happy and I am looking forward to spending more time painting soon . . . soon as i have time . . . . . .

and now at 70, trying to devote more time to my watercolors, I have enrolled in a watercolor class at our local art center and will participate in a plein air art event this fall.
